Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades Program
Total Electrics and Air Conditioning are proud to be an approved supplier for the Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades Program
The Victorian Government is helping low income and vulnerable households improve their thermal comfort by offering rebates to upgrade gas, electrical and wood heaters with energy efficient reverse cycle split system.
Any owner occupier household with a concession card or a combined household income of less than $90,000, can apply for a $1,000 rebate directly from Solar Victoria for the installation of a reverse cycle split system in their main living area. The main living area does not necessarily mean the designated main living area of the house. It can be different in different households. It may be the bedroom, the kitchen, the dining room, study etc, but it’s considered where you spend the majority of your time in the home.
Depending on the current heater type, it may need to be decommissioned for households to qualify for a rebate for a new split system. If an older heater needs to be decommissioned, applicants can receive an additional $200 if they need to cap an old gas heater and $500 if they need to upgrade their switchboard to safely install a split system.
If you have gas ducted heating throughout your home, you are still eligible to apply for the rebate to have a split system installed in your main living area, as long as you are eligible under the income criteria.
Customer’s can only engage a company who is on the approved supplier list to install the reverse cycle split system air conditioner. The full list of installers is provided when you apply for the rebate through the following link:

They then need to engage a contractor from the approved list and arrange a site visit and quote. Once the customer accepts the quote, an installation date and time will be provided. The rebate amount will be deducted from the customer’s invoice and paid directly to the retailer who installed the split system.
